Thousands Visit Oshawa for Chevrolet Camaro Homecoming

More than 587 Camaros tried a Guinness World Record attempt to form the largest car mosaic.

Camaro owners and fans are descending on GM Canada’s Oshawa Assembly Plant this weekend to celebrate the sales-leading pony car. GM estimated a crowd of more than 2,000 Camaro enthusiasts and people from the local community visited the plant today.

In addition to today’s plant tour, the Homecoming Weekend includes the 23rd annual Camaro Nationals event in the parking lot all weekend. It’s hosted by the Ontario Camaro Club.

“Camaro owners are some of our most passionate and loyal customers and we’re thrilled to show our appreciation to them with this event,” said Kevin Williams, president and managing director, General Motors of Canada.

“As well, we owe a debt of gratitude to Canadians for their support, especially over the past few years, and today’s plant open house is a small way we can say thank you for the chance we’ve been given to show what this company can really do.”
