During 2015 Ford Motor Company posted a record full year pre-tax profit, excluding special items, of $10.8B, up $3.5B. After-tax earnings per share of $1.93, excluding special items, were up $0.59 cents from a year ago. Full year net income at $7.4 billion increase$6.1 billion. After-tax earnings per share of $1.84 increased $1.53 from a year ago.
The strong results came from the automobile businesses with full year Automotive pre-tax profit of $8.8 billion, up $3.3 billion. All business units, with the exception of South America were profitable. North America and Ford Credit were notably successful.
Global market share increased two-tenths of a percentage point from a year ago at 7.3%, with improvement in South America and Europe. Ford was the number one brand in vehicle sales in the U.S. for 2015. While the real money maker – F-Series – had its 34th straight year as the best-selling vehicle in the U.S.
For Motor also had a record full year Automotive operating-related cash flow of
$7.3 billion, including $2.1 billion in the fourth quarter.
