Technical Tidbits and Caveats
Use of Tesla Superchargers requires cellular connectivity, compatible vehicle hardware, Tesla mobile app download and account registration, payment method, and acceptance of Tesla’s Privacy Notice and Terms of Use.
Tesla Supercharger location information is provided by Tesla. Volkswagen is not responsible for the accuracy of charger location, charger availability, charger compatibility, or pricing & payment options.
Tesla Supercharging costs and fees will be billed by Tesla to the payment method you’ve set up in the Tesla app. The Tesla app and Tesla Superchargers are provided by Tesla and their continued compatibility and availability are outside of Volkswagen’s control. Message and data rates may apply.
Volkswagen approved NACS DC adapter is sold separately. NACS DC adapter is for use with compatible DC chargers only, including Tesla Superchargers identified by Tesla as a “NACS Partner Site.” See the Tesla app for NACS Partner Site locations. Do not use NACS DC adapter with any Level 1 or Level 2 AC chargers, including Tesla Destination chargers and home chargers with NACS connectors. The use of any third-party adapters is at your own risk.
Volkswagen strongly recommends that the vehicle’s software be updated prior to using the Volkswagen-approved NACS DC charging adapter to charge the vehicle, as this update includes additional safeguards to prevent certain risks such as property damage, fire, and/or injury, that could occur in the case of adapter misuse.
Actual charge time will vary and depends on several factors including battery age and vehicle condition. Battery capacity and charging speed decreases with time and use. See dealer or owner’s literature for details.
