Tesla is recalling some 2021-2022 Model S liftback vehicles because the right or left side curtain air bag inflators may have been assembled incorrectly. During manufacturing by supplier Joyson Safety System of Auburn Hills Michigan the inflator may have been installed into the side curtain airbag assembly with an additional spacer plate component. This results in an airbag that did not meet specifications.
