The Nation’s international trade deficit in goods and services increased to $47.1 billion in February from $45.9 billion in January as imports increased more than exports, says the U.S. Census Bureau. Exports increased to $178.1 billion in February from $176.3 billion in January. Goods were $118.6 billion in February, up from $116.8 billion in January. Services were $59.5 billion in February, down less than $0.1 billion from January.
However, imports increased to $225.1 billion in February from $222.2 billion in January. Goods were $183.3 billion in February, up from $180.6 billion in January. Services were $41.8 billion in February, up from $41.5 billion in January. For goods, the deficit was $64.7 billion in February, up from $63.9 billion in January. For services, the surplus was $17.7 billion in February, down from $18.0 billion in January.
