American Honda said today that 2023 sales were more than1.3 million units, up 33% when compared year-over-year. The Honda brand increase 31.9% on sales of 1,162,531 units. The Acura brand closed the year up 42% on sales of 145,655.

“We began 2023 optimistic for increased sales volumes, with our commitment to fun-to-drive cars, a refreshed light truck line-up and increasing hybrid-electric volumes. To have achieved a 33-percent increase over last year’s sales is an incredible testament to the strength of our products, dealer network and brands,” said Mamadou Diallo, senior vice president of Auto Sales at American Honda Motor Co.

2023 Highlights

• Honda electrified models set an all-time sales record with CR-V and Accord hybrids combined at 293,640 units. This equates to more than 25% of total Honda brand sales.
• CR-V sales (361,457) remains America’s best-selling crossover of the past 25 years.
• Ridgeline pickup (52,001) posts the model’s all-time best annual sales performance.
• Passenger car sales see Civic (200,381) & Accord (197,947) combine for nearly 400,000 units for 2023
• Acura Integra posted sales of 32,090
• Acura MDX and RDX added 9102 in December to reach ~100,000 units in 2023.
