Chevrolet said engineers will embed themselves with the Chad Hall Racing team to analyze the race truck’s performance, durability and capability. These will be applied to production vehicles, and performance parts and accessories from Chevrolet. Today, more than 44 off-road performance parts and accessories are available for customers to buy for production trucks. More information on Silverado EV Trail Boss will be forthcoming.

“Working with the Chevy engineers is always a good day at the office,” said Chad Hall, primary driver and owner of Hall Racing race team. “What we learn from racing is applied to vehicles consumers can buy. An off-road race like The Mint 400 is equivalent to a lifetime of vehicle wear and tear.”

Hall Racing first started competing in a stock production class in a Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 in 2017. Since then, the team has finished 53 of 54 races entered.

The Silverado ZR2 race truck concept’s debut comes as Chevy prepares to launch this summer the 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss, its first off-road oriented EV variant. Trail Boss should be a more off-road capable Silverado EV with a factory-installed lift, 18-inch wheels, 35-inch all-terrain tires and red tow hooks. New Terrain Mode gives the truck increased maneuverability in tight spaces.
