There’s a 0.4-mile front-stretch along Pennsylvania Avenue, framed by the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol. The pit lane space will be adjacent to the track, on Pennsylvania Avenue, between Turns 1 and 2. The IndyCar drivers will also race by the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art and the National Archives.

Building of the Freedom 250 Grand Prix circuit will begin later this summer, with the roads near the U.S. Capitol and around the National Mall expected to remain open and accessible throughout the majority of the course creation. Scheduled for 22-23 August 2026, the Freedom 250 Grand Prix will mark the first ever auto race held on the National Mall and the streets of Washington D.C.
