Volvo Sets S90 Sedan Price at $46,950

The standard radar/camera unit detects large animals on the road or slowly moving across it with the side towards the car. If a large animal is detected, the S90 like the XC90 SUV warns the driver. Volvo Car USA set the price of it S90 luxury sedan at $46,950 and $52,90 for the all-wheel-drive model at the New York Auto Show today. It also introduced an online pricing program, Volvo Concierge, to move most of car buying process online. The car will be available to customers this summer.

Three engines will be available: the  four-cylinder, 2-liter turbocharged and supercharged T6 engine, the turbocharged T5 variant and a T8 Twin Engine (gas and electric in marketing babble) plug-in hybrid.

The Volvo S90 T5 Momentum at just under $50,000, comes equipped with turbo-charged Drive-E engine rated at 250 horsepower. A leather interior is standard, as is a nine-inch touch screen and LED headlights.

The S90 T6 AWD Momentum starts at $52,950. The 316 horsepower T6 turbo- and super-charged Drive-E engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive. In addition to the standard features of the T5, the T6 also includes heated front seats, a large driver information display area and dual integrated tailpipes.

With the S90 Volvo introduces a personalized online buying experience for its customers – an industry trend – to shop online through the Volvo website. An online representative will answer any and all questions about the S90 and its options and allow actual buyers to change preferences before the car is built in Sweden.

This concierge will provide updates on when the vehicle ships and when it will arrive. Before the owner takes delivery he or she can program the radio stations and software applications so they can drive out of the store without being distracted by button settings. But delivery will still be done through a Volvo retailer of choice.
