It’s safe, predictable, and an example of what happens when a Detroit Three company thinks it can take an iconic American car global, adding some additional Ford Mustang sales – it’s hoped – in Europe and Asia.
The 2015 Ford Mustang continues the current look with what’s said to be an all-new platform for the original pony car, but to the casual observer the Mustang will appear as a nice freshening with a new grille and taillights grafted onto the current car. Note that those excessively covered exhaust pipes are four in number, duals to each side, which is a big change for Mustangs?
The front covers on the fender sides hide brake vents, and rear covers just about where a gas tank filler is located could indicate differential cooler vents, a common technique among hot running racing vehicles.
The hood bulge covers unknown additions to obvious engine performance enhancements. In addition, those disc wheel covers are a new disguise for an auto company. Effective in hiding the spoke wheels and huge brake discs, I think.
The first retail 2015 Ford Mustang GT Fastback when it goes on sale this fall was sold for $300,000 at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ. A car collector and North Texas Ford dealer, Sam Pack, helped Ford Motor Company increase its charity vehicle sales to more than $3.5 million for JDRF, a leading diabetes research organization.
