EU Commercial Vehicle Sales up 14.6% in April

AutoInformed.comSales of new commercial vehicles in the EU increased for the 16th consecutive month during April at 195,013 units. AutoInformed shares the U.S. government skepticism here of EU and Asian monetary policies that are not leading to a robust recovery.

Nonetheless, growth was sustained across all segments of commercial vehicles in the largest EU markets. Italy recorded the highest upturn in what is by far the largest segment – below 3.5 tons – at 14,250 (+32.5%), followed by Spain at 15,256 (+19.5%), Germany at 22,031 (+12.3%), and the UK at 27,880 (+11.2%).

In the first four months of the year, the EU market for commercial vehicles expanded by 12.8%, totaling 758,566. During that period, Italy (+29.2%), Spain (+12.9%), France (+10.1%), Germany (+10.0%) and the UK (+4.1%) all increased sales.
