Ford Motor Company and its ACH subsidiary has agreed to sell a former Visteon lighting plant in Sandusky, Ohio to Ventra Sandusky, a member of the Flex|N|Gate group by the end of June. Ventra Sandusky also will run the ACH automotive lighting service parts operation in Bellevue, Ohio. Earlier this month ACH said it would sell its interior trim business to Faurecia, the world’s sixth-largest automotive supplier.
After this sale, ACH or Automotive Components Holdings will have only one remaining operation – the climate control business at its Sheldon Road plant in Plymouth Township, Mich. ACH was formed by Ford in 2005 to sell or close 23 former Visteon plants.
“The Sandusky lighting acquisition strengthens our competencies in vehicle lighting systems and supports our global commitment to Ford Motor Company,” said Flex|N|Gate Chairman Shahid Khan.
Ventra Sandusky said it would offer employment to most Sandusky and Bellevue employees.
