Honda Motor Company in Japan announced on Memorial Day that auto production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month, setting record production for the month of April.
The Honda comeback from the effects of natural disasters last year – the Japan earthquake and tsunami in March and the later floods in Thailand – included all-time monthly records for April production in North America (137,067), United States (97,497), Asia (102,195), and China (61,330).
Production in Japan for the month of April 2012 (87,049) also posted a year-on-year increase for the fifth consecutive month. Total exports from Japan in April 2012 at 20,000 units meant a year-on-year increase for the fourth consecutive month.
