Honda Motor Sets Monthly Records for Global Production. North America, US, Asia and China Surge

Honda Civic was 2015 North American Car of the Year announced at NAIAS in January.

Honda Motor Company today announced a global production record for February. Overall, Honda made 396,461 vehicles in February, a +29.5% increase year-over-year. North America, the U.S., Asia and China were particularly strong. Year-to-date Honda has produced 800,720 vehicles, a 20% increase. Toyota Motor by comparison made 1,566,551 (-4.2) during the same period.

In the U.S. Honda built 117,678 vehicles , a +40% increase. North America totaled 175,435 for a +43.1% gain. Asia at 125,247 vehicles or +30% was stronger. Chinese assembly at 65,130 posted a +66.1% improvement. Production in Japan for the month of February 2016 experienced a year-on-year increase for the second consecutive month since January 2016.

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the 12th consecutive month from March 2015. This includes record high production for the month of February in North America, USA, Asia and China. Production worldwide experienced a year-on-year increase for the ninth consecutive month since June 2015.
