Porsche Consulting Opens U.S. Office in Atlanta

Porsche Consulting Inc. aims to generate 20% its revenue with Porsche and Volkswagen, which owns it; 80% with existing and new customers in the U.S.

Porsche Consulting said today that it is opening an office in Atlanta, Georgia. The wholly-owned subsidiary automaker Porsche AG in Stuttgart was founded in 1994 and will formally begin operations in October with ten consultants. The Atlanta office will be the third foreign office, following ones in Milan, Italy and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

“In the past five years we have generated income of approximately $20 million with local customers in the USA. That is positively crying out for a local presence. We are pleased to be able to announce this step,” said Norman Firchau, President and CEO of the new subsidiary Porsche Consulting Inc. in the United States.

Porsche Consulting said in a release that it is also growing in Germany where it among the largest consultancies. Approximately 50 new consultants are to be hired in the current year. The recruitment focus is on industrial engineers with experience in vehicle and automotive technology, mechanical engineering, manufacturing or aerospace. Porsche is also looking for economists who have majored in production, logistics, procurement and purchasing, development or sales.

Porsche Consulting is widely known in Germany for its work in optimizing processes from production to supplier management, in research and development, marketing, sales and in administration. Customers come from diverse sectors such as the automotive industry, mechanical and electrical engineering, the construction industry, the aerospace industry, the consumer goods industry, commerce, banking and insurance, the health sector, traffic and transport.

In addition to Lean Management, or the reduction of activities that do not add value, the elimination of waste and the rise of value creation, the U.S. subsidiary will focus on Supply Chain Management and on optimizing research and development processes.
