FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall to replace the rear outboard seat belt retractors from Autoliv ASP. Dealers will replace the retractors, free of charge as required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety regulations. Owner notification letters are not expected to be mailed until 24 September 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler’s number for this recall is 84D. Chronology

• In April 2026, FCA US notified Stellantis Europe S.p.A (“Stellantis Europe”) of a potential issue related to rear seat belt retractor malfunction concerning 2023-2025 MY Dodge Hornet and 2023- 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale.
• On 4 May 2026, Stellantis Europe opened an investigation related to 2023-2025 Dodge Hornet and 2023-2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale rear seat belt retractor malfunction.
• From May 2026 to June 2026, Stellantis Europe Engineering reviewed information related to those claims and looked into the previous topics known in Europe.
• On 1 July 1 2026, Stellantis Europe S.p.A organization recognized that the defect may occur on particular conditions due to a weakness in the design.
• On 30 July 30 2026, Stellantis Europe determined, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, that a safety defect exists in certain vehicles
• As of 30 July 30, 2026, FCA US is aware of 0 customer assistance records, 484 warranty claims, 0 field reports, and no other service records potentially relating to this safety defect.
• As of 30 July 2026, FCA US is not aware of any accidents or injuries potentially related to this safety defect for all markets.
