“The CPI for all transportation goods and services rose 6.5% from June 2025 to June 2026. Transportation contributed 31.1% to the 3.5% increase in the price of all goods and services per the CPI. Gasoline (all types) contributed the most to inflation, rising 26.7% year-over-year and contributing 24.4% to the annual change in the price of all goods and services,” BTS said.

Making America Poor Again – Top three contributors to inflation in June 2026 were:

• Gasoline (all types): +24.4%
• Airline Fare: +6.8%
• Motor vehicle maintenance and repair: +2.1%
