Marchionne was gracious but circumspect at the announcement in Detroit.

FCA US confirmed this evening that it has reached a tentative agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement with the UAW, covering approximately 40,000 represented members. The agreement is subject to UAW member ratification. At this time, the Company claimed it couldn’t discuss the specifics of the agreement pending a ratification vote – an internal UAW process. However CEO Sergio Marchionne did say the teams had come up with a creative way to end two-tier wages – a huge UAW victory and a victory for struggling workers in all sectors.
