The problem original arose in a Michigan State Police training vehicle, and Chrysler conducted a limited recall in February of 2012.
Chrysler is recalling more than 119,000 model year 2011 and 2012 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger cars because a Philippine-made electronic component can cause the anti-lock braking system to fail.
The cars can lose the ABS/ESC system due to an overheated power distribution center, which could lead to loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. The problem original arose in a Michigan State Police training vehicle, and Chrysler conducted a limited recall in February of 2012 until subsequent field reports revealed the Yazaki supplied module was failing in other vehicles.
Chrysler will notify owners at the end of May. Dealers and dealers will relocate the abs/esc system fuse, free of charge as is required by NHTSA regulations.
