Led by the Chinese market, the world’s largest, global light vehicle sales again were at a record pace during the month of November. Preliminary results for show the light vehicle market soared to a new record of more than 86 million units a year. Early estimates for China indicate strong sales at a rate of over 23 million units per year, while the U.S. market was also 16.4 million units annualized. Progress in Europe and strong Japanese sales also upped the total. However, sales in South America slowed.
According to consultancy LMC, truck sales outpaced car sales again for the eleventh consecutive month.
