Sienna owners will be notified by first class mail to return their vehicles to a dealer for replacement of the shift lock solenoid.

Toyota Motor Sales is conducting a safety recall on 615,000 Sienna minivans because of roll-aways. Toyota vans from the 2004-2005 and 2007-2009 model years have a shift lever assembly that can be moved from the Park position without the driver depressing the brake pedal.

Toyota said in a brief statement that the shift lock solenoid that is part of the interlock system installed in involved vehicles could become damaged without providing further details about accidents or injuries.

Toyota Sienna minivan owners will be notified by first class mail to return their vehicles to a Toyota dealer for replacement of the shift lock solenoid with a new one. More information is available to customers at www.toyota.com/recall and by calling the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331.
