Half mast finally.

The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) received official notification today from the organizers of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix that this year’s event, scheduled from May 29-30, has been canceled for 2020.

“Over the last several weeks, IMSA and the event promoter exhausted every option to conduct this race in 2020. Many factors made it impossible, including our scheduled races in the second half of the year. We all look forward to returning to the iconic Belle Isle circuit in June of 2021, said IMSA which is owned by COVID-19 denier NASCAR.

IMSA said it continues to work with partners for possible alternative events to run an appropriately adjusted 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. Details on any changes to IMSA-sanctioned series schedules will be communicated as available.
