Toyota Announces a New Safety Research Center in Michigan
Toyota said in a statement that during the next five years about $50 million in funding will come from the Japanese company, roughly the same amount as the fines accessed against Toyota in 2010 by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for its failure to promptly act on safety defects.
