General Motors (NYSE: GM)* said that fleet customers can streamline fleet management with the newly launched OnStar Fleet Intelligence platform with AI.**
“Our fleet customers need simple, intuitive tools to manage their vehicles and efficiently manage operating costs,” said Ian Hucker, global vice president, GM Fleet. “The OnStar Fleet Intelligence platform meets this need head-on, streamlining complex data into one accessible dashboard so business owners can focus less on administrative hurdles and more on efficiently scaling their operations.”
OnStar Fleet Intelligence platform
- The OnStar Fleet Intelligence platform delivers by providing a single access point to manage the entire fleet relationship. Within the platform, users can renew OnStar software and services and connect vehicles. Additionally, this unified view allows fleet owners and managers to track orders, manage vehicles, and access essential information, from diagnostic data like fuel efficiency and range, to geofencing and vehicle protection.
- For customers large enough to have a Fleet Account Number (FAN) it can easily be linked to the account, enabling management of all vehicles listed under that FAN, regardless of make, equipment, or OnStar plan, with one login.
- The OnStar Fleet Intelligence platform turns fleet data into proactive insights helping fleet owners and managers optimize performance, reduce downtime and plan ahead.
- Built into the platform is Fleet Insights, intended to help fleet managers find patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed if they only look at one vehicle or report at a time. For example, a fleet manager can analyze why fuel costs are rising and look for trends across vehicles, routes and drivers. This helps them determine what changes will have the greatest impact on lowering fuel costs.
- OnStar Fleet AI Assistant is built into the platform, giving fleet managers the tools they need to transition from reactive firefighters to proactive decision-makers. The Fleet AI Assistant reduces manual analysis and reporting, delivering instant answers via natural language queries, ultimately helping to improve vehicle utilization and lowering costs. For example, using natural language, a fleet manager can simply ask the AI Assistant – “show total idling time for each vehicle this month,” or “show which are my most utilized vehicles and which are my least.” The AI Assistant will quickly display the information, reducing the time spent on manual analysis. Now fleet managers can spot more easily trends and potentially find opportunities to increase efficiency.
“More than 30 years ago OnStar revolutionized the connected vehicle; combining human support with tech to deliver real-world impact,” said Arnie Magnotta, vice president, OnStar Services & Digital Commerce. “This new platform builds on that legacy of innovation to transform fleet management, turn data into insights, and help our customers grow and scale their businesses.”
