Jeep® will be is the first brand of the Stellantis group to market a 100% electrified range in France today the Group said. The e-Hybrid versions of Renegade and Compass will replace pure internal combustion engines, including Diesel versions. However, ordering of all ICE versions is open until 30 May. Hybrids, of course, remain part of the global warming problem. They are not the answer.
“The electrification of our ranges is no longer an option, it is obvious dictated jointly by supply and demand,” said Guillaume de Boudemange, director of Jeep in France, who will preside over the slow five year transition to pure EVs. This plan still being rolled out envisions the sale of a 100% electric Jeep in each new product range from 2024. In 2027, the European range will be 100% electric. As noted France is the first European market to stop the sale of internal combustion engines (ICE) in favor of 48V e-Hybrid (MHEV) and 4xe rechargeable hybrid engines.
As of 1 June, the Jeep line in France will consist of:
- Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass e-Hybrid 1.3-liter 130 hp in Longitude, Night Eagle, Limited, Upland and S versions
- Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass 4xe 1-liter 190 hp in Limited and Upland versions
- Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass 4xe 1.3-liter 240 hp in Upland, Trailhawk and S versions
- Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe in Sahara, Overland and Rubicon versions.
