More Ford Recalls Published – Millions of Vehicles Involved

According to the latest safety defect recalls made public this morning by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, aka NHTSA, Ford Motor Company is also recalling numerous vehicles that have not been published by AutoInformed. These include recalls for windshield wipers, brake calipers, brake hoses, and towing trailer tail lights. In some cases millions of vehicles are involved. Owners Should contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or go to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236. Information is also available at  www.nhtsa.gov.

The largest recall involves more than 1.28 million 2013-2018 model year Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans because the front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid. Ford’s number for this recall is 23S12; NHTSA 23V162.

Other Ford Motor Recalls

NHTSA Recall Number: 23V163. Potential Number of Units Affected 222,454

Affected are 2021 F-150 vehicles. The windshield wiper arms may break, causing the windshield wipers to fail. Dealers will inspect and replace the wiper arms, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 27, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 23S10. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall 22V-250.

NHTSA Recall Number: 23V164. Potential Number of Units Affected 644

Affected are  2022 F-53 and F-59 vehicles. The rear brake caliper attachment bolts may not be tightened correctly, which can allow the caliper to loosen and possibly damage the wheel or brake lines. Ford’s number for this recall is 23S11.

NHTSA Recall Number: 23V160. Potential Number of Units Affected 2716

Affected are 2023 Maverick vehicles. A missing electrical circuit may cause the trailer taillights to not illuminate as intended when using the vehicle trailer tow electrical connector. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.” Ford’s number for this recall is 23C04.
