ALG, a company forecasting future vehicle values, and the analytics subsidiary of TrueCar, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUE) today announced the winners of the 2019 Residual Value Awards (RVA), ranking Subaru and Land Rover as the top Mainstream Brand and Premium Brand, respectively. The awards will be presented to automakers this week at Automobility LA. ALG has been publishing residual values for all cars, trucks and SUVs in the U.S. for more than 50 years and in Canada since 1981.

The ALG Residual Value Awards recognize vehicles in 26 segments that are projected to hold the highest percentage of their Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) after a three-year period.

This year’s recipients have shown strong value in their competitive segments and were chosen from all 2019 model year vehicles on sale in the United States in the Premium and Mainstream segments.

“Strong residual values are the ultimate scorecard for the holistic health of a brand, showcasing the successful management of new vehicle transaction prices and incentives against used vehicle values and re-marketing strategies,” claims Eric Lyman, SVP of ALG. “In this regard, Subaru and Land Rover continue to run the table against the competition, not only taking home the brand award, but nearly sweeping the segment awards across their vehicle line ups in the 2019 ALG Residual Value Awards.”

Award winners are determined through analysis of used vehicle performance,  and subjective brand outlook and product competitiveness. Eligibility for a brand award requires a manufacturer to have vehicle entries in at least four different segments. To account for differences across trim levels, model averages are weighted based on percentage share relative to the entire model line.
