On this day – 24 October 1938 – the federal minimum wage became law in the United States. President Franklin Roosevelt signed the Fair Labor Standards Act, aka FLSA, the previous summer that, among other things, created the concept now backed by legal reality that people should get a fair wage for a day’s work. Amazon Raises Minimum Wage to $15 for All U.S. Employees
More than 250,000 Amazon employees, as well as more than 100,000 seasonal holiday employees, and their families will benefit from the new, higher pay.
