Ram 2021-23 Pickups and Cab Chassis Recalled for Fires

FCA USA is recalling 2021-2023 model year Ram 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, and 4500, 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles equipped with a Cummins 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel engine because an electrical short may occur in the heater grid relay with the ignition on or off. More than 300,00 Ram pickup are involved and they all have the safety defect, according to a filing just made public by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Continue reading

July 4th Fiasco as Chrysler Group Issues Four Recalls

Late in the day before the U.S. July 4th holiday, the Fiat-controlled Chrysler Group issued statements on four separate safety recalls. This obvious ploy to minimize damaging publicity about the its latest quality gaffs came as the Center for Auto Safety renewed efforts to have NHTSA crash test a proposed fix covering Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee SUVs for fuel-system fires. Multiple Ram Truck Recalls Active at Chrysler Group

Chrysler Group is recalling 2012 and 2013 Ram trucks for three different safety defects, according to NHTSA documents just made public. The recalls are for defective headlamps and taillights, as well as a bad weld affecting the front driveshaft. The latest safety defects come shortly after Chrysler Group refused a NHTSA request to recall almost thee million Jeeps for an allegedly defective fuel tank design. Continue reading
