Toyota Production Now at 100% in North America and Japan
Toyota’s North American production has now returned to 100%. The resumption of all car and truck manufacturing – months ahead of initial projections – is welcome news at Japan’s largest automaker, whose U.S. sales through August have declined 16% year-over-year, relegating it to fourth place, while the market grew 10.5%. Toyota to Increase North American Production in June
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America (TEMA) said it will increase production this June to about 70% of normal levels, up from 30% in May as a result of parts shortages caused by the Japan earthquake.
Models returning to 100% production in June are Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Matrix, Sequoia, Sienna and Venza. Continue reading
