A classic case at Cadillac of only being as strong as the weakest CTS suspension link.
General Motors is recalling 2009-2010 Cadillac CTS models because the rear wheels can suddenly splay, sending the CTS out of the driver’s control.
The problem is caused by improperly made rear toe link fasteners. No accidents or injuries were reported.
Cadillac dealers will clean all wax residues from the rear suspension toe link and install two new jam nuts, according to a GM filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
If necessary, the rear suspension toe link may be replaced. This service will be performed free of charge as required by U.S. safety regulations
GM did not provide NHTSA with an owner notification schedule. Owners may contact Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339 and at the owner center at www.gmownercenter.com. GM”s safety recall is numbered 11029.
