GM in Process of Dumping Ally, Formerly GMAC

General Motors is in the midst of rebuilding its long gone GMAC financial empire due to bankruptcy, is replacing it with General Motors Financial, which appears to be an exact duplicate of the auto-lending arm of Ally, formally known as GMAC without the housing lending risks that sunk the company. January U.S. Sales Gains Driven by Trucks

January 2015 FCA U.S. Sales up 14%

GM U.S. January Sales up 18% on Trucks

The gains were largely the result of booming truck and crossover demand. Year-over-year pickup deliveries increased 42%, following last month’s 43% increase. Large pickup sales were up 22% and more than 8000 all-new mid-size trucks were delivered. GM is the only U.S.-based automaker competing in this segment that Ford once dominated with its now abandoned Ranger. Continue reading

GM Dividend Stays at 30 Cents

The General Motors Company (NYSE: GM) Board of Directors today declared a Q1 2015 dividend of 30 cents per share on its common stock. The dividend is payable Tuesday 24 March 24 to all common stockholders of record as of Wednesday, 11 March. On an annual basis, the dividend of $1.20 is paying 3.6%. Continue reading

Hyundai Debuts 2016 Sonata Hybrid with Higher MPG

Today Hyundai introduced the Hybrid version of its seventh-generation Sonata at NAIAS. The 2016 Sonata Hybrid fuel economy is expected to improve more than 10%. Sonata Hybrid is projected to achieve up to 39 mpg in the city, 44 mpg on the highway and have a combined EPA mileage rating of 42 mpg. Continue reading
