Chrysler Group August Sales Up 31% in U.S.

Chrysler Group August sales were 130,119 vehicles in the U.S., a 31% increase compared with sales in August 2010 of 99,611 units. The smallest of the Detroit Three said this was the best August sales since 2007. Based on early sales numbers this was much greater growth than average auto industry growth in August. Chrysler Group U.S. July Sales up 20%. Best July in Four Years

The Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge brands all posted year-over-year sales gains in July, while the Fiat brand registered a 68% increase – albeit only 3,000 units- compared with the previous month of June 2011. Chrysler Group’s car sales increased 28% in July to 28,000 vehicles while truck sales were up 18% at 84,000 units compared with the same month a year ago. Continue reading

Chrysler May U.S. Sales Up 10% as Retail Sales Soar 27%

Chrysler Group, the weakest of the Detroit Three, today reported U.S. sales of 115,363, a 10% increase compared with sales in May 2010 and the best May sales since 2008. The strong results came as larger Ford and General Motors posted flat sales year-on-year. Continue reading

Chrysler to Pay off $7.5 Billion in U.S., Canadian Bailout Loans

It is primarily the interest on government loans – $1.23 billion – that prevented Chrysler from earning a profit during 2010 and resulted in an overall loss for the year of $652 million. Chrysler Posts First Profit Since 2009 Taxpayer Bailout

It is primarily the interest on government loans -$1.23 billion – that prevented Chrysler from earning a profit during 2010 and resulted in an overall loss for the year $652 million. Chrysler has announced that it intends to pay back those loans by June of this year by refinancing them through a combination of bonds and debt in private equity placements. Continue reading

Chrysler Group Reports January U.S. Sales Up 23%

Chrysler Group LLC today reported U.S. sales of 70,118, a 23% increase compared with sales in January 2010 (57,143 units), and ahead of the overall U.S. market growth of 17%.

Chrysler’s heavy reliance on truck and minivan sales – roughly 75% of total – was a factor as overall truck sales in the U.S. increased 29% in January. Continue reading

Chrysler Group Posts $652 Million Loss in 2010

Chrysler Group LLC today said that it had a total year net loss in 2010 of $652 million, and a net loss of loss of $199 million in Q4 2010, compared to a net loss of $84M in Q3 2010. Debt increased by $0.4 billion in 2010 to $5.8 billion from 2009 as the revision of 16 models increased costs and deceased revenue during their launch. Cash as of 31 December 2010 was $7.3 billion compared to $8.3 billion on 30 September 2010. Continue reading
