Ferrari North America is recalling model year 2023-2025 Purosangue SUVs because a fuse box short circuit can reduce the braking capability.

“The possible short circuit which may derive from the potential contact between the fuse box’s power supply and the passenger-side footrest could lead to the activation of the brake warning light, the display of the pop-up message informing the driver to slowly bring the vehicle to a dealer, and the decrease of braking capability. If the driver does not heed the warning, the decreased braking capability could lead to a crash,” Ferrari told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the mandatory safety defect recall filing made public by NHTSA this morning.

Ferrari will install a plastic spacer between the fuse box’s power supply and the passenger-side footrest in order to make sure that these components do not make any contacts. “The recall condition was already corrected in production in February 2025 for good engineering purposes, in order to align the manufacturing process of left-hand drive vehicles with the one used by Ferrari for the right-hand drive vehicles,” Ferrari said. (The problem was originally detected in a Purosangue sold in China – AutoCrat)

The client notification letter will be sent to all known current owners of the affected vehicles advising them to contact an authorized Ferrari dealer to schedule an appointment to have the recall work performed. The letters are scheduled to be sent on or before 21 September 2025.

It’s the beginning of a perfect lap. AutoInformed has an editorial philosophy that loves transportation machines of all kinds while promoting critical thinking about the future use of cars and trucks. Zino builds AutoInformed from his background in automotive journalism starting at Hearst Publishing in New York City on Motor and MotorTech Magazines and car testing where he reviewed hundreds of vehicles in his decade-long stint as the Detroit Bureau Chief of Road & Track magazine.
