Toyota Wins WEC 6 Hours of Bahrain

Sébastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and Brendon Hartley in the #8 car home took second place. The Alpine Elf Matmut Endurance Team scored its fifth consecutive podium finish in the FIA World Endurance Championship in Bahrain. The attention now moves to the drivers’ title fight in next weekend’s final 8-hour race in Bahrain race. The Le Mans-winning #7 crew moved a step closer to retaining the World Championship they won in Bahrain 12 months ago. Endurance Racing – Alpine Signatech in LMDh from 2024

Alpine says it wants to add new entries to its list of achievements. From 2024 onwards, Alpine will enter the LMDh, one of the two regulations of the Hypercar category. Alpine will field two cars designed around an Oreca chassis and, bien sûr, an Alpine engine developed at Viry-Châtillon. Palou Driving a Honda is 2021 IndyCar Series Champion

Several crashes marred the Long Beach race – consistent with the season as several IndyCar drivers demonstrated the idiocy of making moves that were almost always likely to hurt theirs and other driver’s chances. Reigning 2020 champion Simon Pagenaud finished fifth with a decent run. Other drivers in contention weren’t so lucky or level headed. Josef Newgarden finished second and Scott Dixon, the six-time and reigning champion, finished third. Palou took the championship by 38 points over Newgarden. Continue reading

Toyota First Hypercar Winner at Le Mans in Fourth Straight Victory. Ferrari First then Corvette, Porsche in GTE Pro

The No. 7’s win is only the second time ever that an Argentine (Jose Maria Lopez) has won Le Mans and is the team’s seventh consecutive WEC race victory. Ford Sending Three Broncos to 2021 Desert Navigational Rally

The  Bronco Sport and Bronco four-door are Badlands, while the Bronco two-door is a Wildtrak. All three are outfitted in race livery from the Bronco 4600 stock class race vehicle that will run in the ULTRA4 stock class off-road series this year. The Bronco two-door, equipped with the Sasquatch Package, and Bronco Sport vehicles maintain bone stock designation, with second-row seats removed. Brickyard Sunday – Allmendinger in Chevy Wins NASCAR Cup

The first NASCAR Cup Series road course race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was ether exciting or disastrous depending on how you view racing. A.J. Allmendinger led only the last two laps of overtime to secure his second career NASCAR Cup Series victory Sunday. “The best part is when you’ve got Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice on the radio just going, Hey, we’re not here for friends, we’re not here for points, we’re here to win this race, so win it or basically bring it back on the hook. C’est Bien – Corvette Racing off to Le Mans 24 Hour

This year’s Le Mans is the first time in France for the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette C8.R, and this year’s race marks Corvette Racing’s return after missing the 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It ended a run of 20 consecutive years at Le Mans that started in 2000. In that time, Corvette claimed eight victories with three different generations of Corvette… all with the engine in the front. Volker Holzmeyer New Head of Porsche Motorsport NA

Porsche Carrera Cup North America is the most recent Porsche racing program here, starting in 2021, reflecting 30 years of Porsche racing. The one-make race series in the United States and Canada (eventually now that baseball has just returned to Toronto) uses the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup N3 racing slick on the road and street race courses on the continent. As with all national Carrera Cups worldwide, Porsche, through Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA), will manage the single-driver per-entry series.
