Chrysler Group is expanding its current regional recall of Takata PSDI-4 driver airbag inflators to all 50 U.S. States and Federalized Territories at the request of NHTSA.
Almost 3 million vehicles are affected, including model year 2004-2007 Dodge Ram 1500 and Durango, 2005-2007 Dodge Ram 2500, Charger, Magnum, Dakota, Chrysler 300, 300C, SRT8, 2006-2007 Dodge Ram 3500 and Mitsubishi Raider, and 2007 Chrysler Aspen.
‘The cause is familiar. When the driver-side frontal air bag inflates, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture sending shrapnel into the passenger compartment. This is an expansion of the current recall 14V-354″ – AutoCrat.
