Porsche* (P911.DE) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have signed an agreement providing for the sale of the management and IT consultancy MHP to TCS. TCS intends to acquire all of MHP as a group of companies. The acquisition of MHP by TCS of course remains subject to customary regulatory and competition law approvals. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the coming months. “Porsche AG has thus reached another milestone in its “Sportwagenschmiede ’35” strategy [Sports car manufacturer ’35. As Porsche seeks to be and remain profitable. – Autocrat.], Porsche said in a release.**

“Porsche is taking another important step in its strategy to focus resolutely on its core business with the transfer of MHP to Tata Consultancy Services,” said Dr Michael Leiters, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. “At the same time, we are gaining a strategic partner in TCS. By combining Porsche’s automotive expertise with TCS’s digital technology and AI capabilities, we will further strengthen our innovative power, increase efficiency and boost our competitiveness in an increasingly data- and software-driven world of mobility.”

Disastrous Financial Year With Extraordinary Expenses

The 2025 financial year saw Porsche Group Sales revenue decline to €36.27 billion in 2025 (2024: €40.08 billion). Group operating profit fell from €5.64 billion to €413 million . The reasons for this were, among other things, extraordinary expenses of approximately €3.9 billion. These consist of the realignment of the product strategy and the re-scaling of the company (~€2.4 billion), additional expenses from battery activities (~€700 million) and US tariffs (~€700 million).

MHP will retain its brand and continue to operate as an independent consultancy under its existing name. “As part of TCS, a company within the globally active Tata Group, MHP will benefit from greater innovation and development opportunities, enabling it to offer its clients additional expertise. Porsche and MHP will continue their long-standing and successful collaboration following the change of ownership. MHP will remain an important partner for the digitalization and transformation of various areas of the sports car manufacturer, particularly in relation to artificial intelligence,” the companies said.

**MHP Strategy 2030 to 2035

The corporate purpose of the management and IT consultancy MHP appears unchanged from the previously announced Strategy 2030. MHP has been growing since it was founded in Karlsruhe-Ettlingen in 1996. Porsche AG held a 51% stake in the consultancy by 1998. In 2011, Porsche increased its stake to 81.8%. In 2024, it became 100%. MHP has been evolving from an SAP [System Analysis Program Development, aka SAP in geek speak – AutoCrat] implementation partner to an established process and IT consultancy to a global management and IT consultancy. MHP operates internationally, with headquarters in Germany and subsidiaries in the US, Mexico, UK, Romania, India and China. “For over 30 years, MHP has been shaping the future together with its customers,” MHP says. There are now more than 4500 MHP employees.

“TCS is pleased to partner Porsche in its transformation journey,” said K. Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Consultancy Services. “As AI, software and data redefine the automotive industry, this partnership brings together TCS’ capabilities in AI, engineering and technology and business transformation with MHP’s strong automotive consulting expertise. Together, we will industrialize AI at scale for Porsche, accelerating innovation across the value chain to deliver intelligent, software-defined mobility experiences of the future.”
