Ford Motor Company U.S. Sales Up 6% in March
Ford Motor Company March U.S. sales increased by 6% at 236,160 vehicles sold compared to last March in a market projected to grow by 8% overall. It was Ford Motor Company’s best U.S. sales results since May 2007. Cars were even with a year ago, utilities up 14% and trucks up 6%. Continue reading

Ford Motor U.S. Sales Up 9%, Pacing Market Recovery
Ford Motor Company’s U.S. February sales increased 9% to 195,822 vehicles, its best February in six years. Cars were up 6%, sport utility vehicles rose by 21%, while trucks increased 4%. The only bad news was moribund Lincoln, which saw sales decrease 30% to 4,900 vehicles in spite of an expensive brand-image advertising campaign that doesn’t have a flagship vehicle to promote. Ford EU July Sales off 12%, Lowest Since 1995. Lags Industry
Ford Motor Company sales in its traditional 19 European markets decreased in July to 83,100 vehicles, -12.3% lower than July 2011 in an industry with heavy discounting that was off 7.6% overall. Year-to-date, Ford sales were 700,200 units, down 11% during the same period last year compared to an industry decline of 7%. Both results were the lowest sales for Ford in the EU since 1995 as the Eurozone crisis continues unabated. Continue reading

Chrysler, Ford and GM Post Best U.S. May Sales in Years. But…
Chrysler, Ford and GM posted the best May sales in years today as the U.S. auto market continued its slow recovery to what looks to be shaping up as a 14 million unit year – the best since the collapse of the economy under the waning years of the Bush Administration. In terms of numbers, GM once again led with sales of 245,000 light cars and trucks – it’s highest in 33 months, followed by Ford Motor (209,000) and Chrysler Group (150,000). The market appears to be slipping away from Ford and General Motors, though. Only Chrysler Group at 689,000 year-to-date for a 33% increase outraced industry growth of 13%. Ford Motor up 6.5% (933,000) and GM up a mere 2% at 1,067,000 badly lagged the auto sale expansion. Continue reading
