Late to the Daytona Grid – Ford to Run in GT3 in 2024

The latest Ford racing program will have both a two-car factory-backed IMSA GTD Pro works team managed by Multimatic, as well as customer Mustang race cars for the GTD class starting at Daytona in 2024. Corvette Racing Entering Two C8.Rs for Daytona Rolex 24

Corvette Racing returns to the Daytona after a 1-2 finish in 2021 for the mid-engine Corvette C8.R as part of the GT Le Mans (GTLM) category, which ended at the end of the 2021 season. The GTD-PRO Corvette C8.R will look similar to the GTLM. A revised wing profile will mean a slightly different level of down-force at the rear of the Corvette. The C8.R will run on customer Michelin tires, per GTD regulations. Continue reading

Corvette Racing Goes Global – IMSA, FIA WEC in 2022

Corvette’s production-based race team is preparing for full-season championship challenges in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Corvette Racing will field one Chevrolet Corvette C8.R in each series,. A two-car effort is planned for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. All six Corvette factory drivers from 2021 will return for the new season. Antonio Garcia, Jordan Taylor and Nicky Catsburg will run in IMSA. Tommy Milner, Nick Tandy and Alexander Sims race in WEC. C’est Bien – Corvette Racing off to Le Mans 24 Hour

This year’s Le Mans is the first time in France for the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette C8.R, and this year’s race marks Corvette Racing’s return after missing the 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It ended a run of 20 consecutive years at Le Mans that started in 2000. In that time, Corvette claimed eight victories with three different generations of Corvette… all with the engine in the front. WEC Race 4 – Aston Martin Beats Ferrari at 8 Hours of Bahrain

Chevrolet Grand Sport Corvette Drivers Series

Like the Corvette Racing C7.R race cars, the Grand Sport-based Drivers Series models have a naturally aspirated V8 engine. The 6.2L LT1 engine is rated at 460 horsepower (343 kW)- this is sub 4 seconds zero-60 mph ETs.
