14,000 jobs are going to Mexico by the end of 2017 at the expense of U.S. autoworkers. NAFTA – that giant sucking sound in the words of former presidential candidate Ross Perot – is part of the current U.S. presidential campaign with candidate Donald Trump threatening to put a 37.5% tariff on Mexican auto imports. BMW 507 Driven by Elvis at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance
The BMW 507 driven by Elvis Presley while he was doing military service in Germany is restored and will debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The 507 disappeared for nearly 50 years, and was believed to have been lost. After almost two years of restoration work, BMW Group Classic is presenting the roadster for the first time on 21 August 2016.
Elvis Presley used the BMW 507 to drive between his home in Bad Nauheim and the U.S. Army Base in Friedberg, Southern Germany. He was often mobbed by female fans. The paintwork of the roadster was frequently daubed with messages of love painted in lipstick. Continue reading
