Daytona 24 Hours Discounted 50% as Rain Marks Down Race
The race was red flagged and stopped at 12:40 p.m. At 2:26 p.m. Sunday IMSA threw in a very wet towel and waved the checkered flag to end the race as the field was parked under a red flag . The twice around the clock winners in all four classes were lounging about when the checkered flag was damply displayed with standing water on the track to end long periods of no racing. The ID. R is the marketing amperage behind an entire range of electric vehicles that Volkswagen plans to launch from 2020 onwards. The ID. Chevrolet to Power Fernando Alonso’s 2019 Indy 500 McLaren
Chevrolet and McLaren have a racing history dating back to the mid-1960s. In 1966, Chevrolet and McLaren partnered in the Can-Am Series – one that makes the current Indy spec cars and their limited aero packages laughable given what was then an all-out racing series. Their teams won more than 70% of the races during the next seven years, including 23 in a row from 1968-1970. Continue reading
Gen 8 Porsche 911 Debuts in Los Angeles. A look at Gen 4
The 993 was technological tour de force in the sports car segment with its redesigned LSA suspension (long and short arm suspension – to hell with struts), aluminum chassis, which combined lightweight construction, stability and agility. The multi-link rear suspension is still considered to be the ultimate development stage of the “Weissach” rear axle, which made history with its self-steering properties. Better driving dynamics and enhanced suspension comfort – a seeming conundrum solved by brilliant at any cost engineering. Continue reading
