Toyota (NYSE: TM) revealed details of the 2027 Toyota Corolla Hatchback – a compact car with high quality, durability pert driving traits and unique value in AutoInformed’s experience, which covers decades of reviews and even ownership of one. It will be in dealerships this Summer. Both are built at the Tsutsumi Plant in Aichi, Japan. Info on the 2027 Corolla Sedan will come later.
Available in SE and XSE grades, the 2027 Corolla Hatchback starts at $24,780 (SE) and $27,875 (XSE) MSRP that excludes a Dealer Processing and Handling fee of $1295. Reinforcing the value proposition is Toyota’s 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60,000 miles and corrosion with no mileage limitation. The Corolla Hatchback also comes standard with ToyotaCare, a maintenance plan that covers normal factory-scheduled service for one year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first, and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years, unlimited mileage.
Corolla Hatchback is powered by a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine. Equipped with Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), it is rated by Toyota at 169 horsepower and 151 lb.-ft. torque. The manufacturer-estimated SE fuel economy ratings are 32 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, 35 mpg combined. The Hatchback is on the TNGA-C platform. It has a low center of gravity and relatively sophisticated tuning of the MacPherson® strut front and multi-link rear suspensions.
There is a standard “Dynamic Shift” continuously variable transmission (CVT) that has an actual launch gear for off-the-line acceleration before the CVT’s pulley system takes over. Combined with enhanced sport mode tuning, all grades come standard with paddle shifters that allow drivers to engage 10 pre-set ratios. Drivers can select NORMAL, ECO and SPORT drive modes.
What’s New
- The SE grade now comes standard with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster. The XSE adds a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system as standard equipment.
- A new SE Premium Package uses the 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system with the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.
- Toyota Genuine accessory 18-inch gloss white alloy wheels are now available The 18-inch gloss white alloy wheels require separate purchase of 225/40R18 tires for the SE grade.
- Updated exterior color offerings also join the Hatchback lineup with Inked, Blueprint and Blueprint with Black Roof.
Interior
Inside the SE grade, there is a standard 6-way adjustable fabric driver’s seat and a 4-way adjustable front passenger seat. The XSE grade has a standard SofTex®-trimmed 8-way power-adjustable front driver’s seat and a 4-way adjustable front passenger seat, both of which are heated.

Both Hatchback comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen with Toyota Audio Multimedia, dual Bluetooth® phone connectivity and a six-speaker audio system. Five-year trials of Connected Services (4G Network-dependent) are included for Safety Connect, Service Connect and Remote Connect, as well as a 30-day/3 GB trial for Wi-Fi Connect trial. Additional services, such as Drive Connect, may be available depending on grade.
Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is standard on all grades. It is designed to help detect and warn drivers of vehicles approaching or positioned in adjacent lanes. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert helps detect vehicles approaching from either side while backing out and provides visual and audible warnings.
The Toyota Corolla Hatchback comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 with:
