Ford India Stops Manufacturing Vehicles For Sale
India will remain Ford’s second-largest salaried workforce globally. In addition to Ford Business Solutions, Ford India will continue engine manufacturing for export, as well as full customer support operations with service, aftermarket parts and warranty support. Continue reading
Ford India Expands Chennai Engine Plant
Ford India today announced it has completed the expansion of its Chennai engine plant, increasing annual engine production capacity 36% to 340,000. The additional capacity of 80,000 diesel engines helps meet increasing demand for diesel powertrains in India as well as export markets. The expansion, which Ford hopes will be ongoing, led to the hiring of 200 employees. Continue reading

Ford India Shelves EV Manufacturing Export Plans
In an official response as Ford’s Annual Meeting was underway in the US, Ford India’s spokesperson confirmed and said, “After careful review, we have decided to no longer pursue EV manufacturing for exports from any Indian plant.” At the Annual Meeting Bill Ford and Jim Farley fielded tough questions about its EV strategy, splitting the company into two arms and ongoing supply chain and perennial guilty problems.
