2018 EU Road Deaths Down But More Actions Needed
In 2018, there were around 25,100 fatalities in road accidents in the EU 28. This is a decrease of 21% compared to 2010, and 1% compared to 2017. For the majority of Member States, the road fatality rate was below 60 deaths per million inhabitants in 2018. Continue reading
Nissan Mired in Japanese Corporate Governance Scandals
The latest development also casts doubt about the origination and integrity of a Nissan internal investigation into former Chairman Carlos Ghosn who is due to be released today after a month in Japanese jail for allegedly under reporting deferred income. DOT Announces $417.3 Million in Grants for Highway Projects
In previous years, a pork loving Congress designated some of this grant money for specific highway projects and FHWA awarded the remainder through a competitive process. Because the FY11 budget passed by Congress last April directed that all such funds be discretionary, FHWA awarded these funds through what it said was a “competitive process.” Continue reading
