Hypercar marketing linked with driving simulators this morning in Barcelona as Hispano Suiza* debuted the Carmen Boulogne simulator that has it running on a track that emulates the historic street racing circuit of Montjuïc in Barcelona. “From our first factory, through Sagrera, to our current facilities in Montmeló, Hispano Suiza continues to be a driving force for progress by fostering innovation,” said Sergio Martínez Campos, CEO of Hispano Suiza. “We are a very unique project, the only hypercar brand in our country, and we are literally blazing a trail. That is why, as we look to the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to constant evolution.”
The Carmen Boulogne reflects Hispano Suiza’s motor racing heritage and offers a, well, unique driving experience, which has been reproduced using the latest technologies in the simulator: 820kW (1114 hp) of power provided by four electric motors (two on each rear wheel), a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph) and acceleration from 0-100 km/h in under 2.6 seconds.
Francesc Fajula, CEO of MWCapital, also spoke about the future of the industry and electric vehicles at the unveiling. The activity is part of ‘Remember the future’, MWCapital’s proposal at MWC Barcelona,** which this year addresses re-industrialization to show how technology and innovation are shaping the future of key sectors.

Hispano Suiza is an old Spanish automotive brand owned by the Suqué Mateu family, now in its fourth generation. Hispano Suiza Automobile Factory S.A. was founded in Barcelona in 1904 by Damián Mateu, together with technical director and engineer Marc Birkigt, also a partner in the company. Hispano Suiza is now part of the Peralada Group, which provides luxury dining and entertainment through its global portfolio of casinos, restaurants, hotels, golf courses, vineyards, music festivals and marinas.
Between 1904 and 1946, Hispano Suiza manufactured more than 12,000 high-performance luxury vehicles and 50,000 aircraft engines, primarily for France and other allied nations. Currently its headquarters, technical center and manufacturing plant are located in Barcelona, Spain. HS says it “embodies a spirit that combines the pride of being a Spanish brand with a solid family legacy.”
In 2019, the brand showed the Hispano Suiza Carmen, its new 100% electric hypercar. One year later, it added the Carmen Boulogne. In total, 24 units were produced. Sagrera is a nod to Hispano Suiza’s roots in the La Sagrera district of Barcelona where the company established its first large production factory in 1907. It was located on Ribas road and employed 1800 people.
Since its foundation, four generations of the Suqué Mateu family have preserved the brand, providing “impetus and dynamism to maintain its significant heritage. Currently, Miguel Suqué Mateu, great-grandson of the brand’s founder, is at the helm of Hispano Suiza as its Chairman.”
