Nürburgring: 911 GT3 Manthey Performance Kit – $10,174/s
A 911 GT3 with the Manthey Performance Kit, powered by a 375 kW (510 PS) engine, posted a lap time of 6:55.737 on the Nürburgring’s North Loop, the Nordschleife. This makes it exactly 4.19 seconds faster than the 911 GT3 without the kit, Porsche said today. The modifications focused on aerodynamics and chassis components. The new Performance Kit was developed between the Porsche engineers in Weissach and the Nordschleife specialists from Manthey in Meuspath. Continue reading

‘Entry Level’ Mercedes-AMG SL 43 4-Cylinder?
The SL 43 is a 2+2-seater with fabric soft top and, ahem, a 2-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline engine rated at a combined fuel consumption 9.4-8.9 l/100 km with combined CO2 emissions of 214-201 g/km. In the new SL 43, materials used include aluminum, magnesium, fiber composites and steel, from which the windscreen frame is made, for example. Since Ford is investing $50 billion in electric vehicles through 2026, it needs to wring every profitable nickel out of selling what it has now. Enter the 2022 Ford GT LM Edition available with red or blue design trim that include tinted red or blue carbon fiber exterior “treatment and a driver’s seat in the corresponding color.” Twenty will be made.
