Mustang Dark Horse in Rolling Road Wind Tunnel
Overall, Mustang Dark Horse includes multiple changes and additional features, including a redesigned front bumper, a lower valence, a spoiler, and unique wheels. The front design is optimized to potentially increase air flow for engine cooling, brakes and air intake, while also reducing front lift. On the Mustang Dark Horse, the lower air spoiler and splitter are unique allowing the car to be tuned for greater downforce. The upgraded handling package on the Dark Horse provides a unique splitter, spoiler, and wheels – changes that may seem small but that make all the difference when hitting the road or track with performance in mind. New Mustang Debuts After Media Day at NAIAS
In a surprising example of fair-weather automaker debuts, the movement of the struggling Detroit Auto Show – aka NAIAS – to September of 2022, allowed FMC to skip media day at the Auto Show and debut the new Mustang after press previews ended with the traditional Automotive Press Association welcoming opening night reception. Mustang Matte Clear Film Coming from Ford
The 2024 Mustang Matte Clear Film is a product of PPG. It’s designed to withstand harsh detergents used at hand or touch-less car washes, as well as road salt, bird droppings, bug splatter, and asphalt residue, Ford claims. Orders will start 27 February. This option comes with the same 3-year/36,000-mile factory warranty that applies to all 2024 Mustang cars.
Customers who order the Mustang Matte Clear Film for the Mustang Dark Horse will not get the standard Hood Accent Stripe or be able to select the Painted Racing Stripe. Matte Clear Film is not available with the GT California Special package, or the optional graphics packages on the Mustang EcoBoost and GT.
Graphic delete will also be a stand-alone item on the Mustang Dark Horse for customers who prefer a less conspicuous appearance on the most track-capable 5.0-liter Mustang with the 2024 Dark Horse Handling Package. Continue reading →
