Two Porsche Penske Motorsport Porsche 963s took a one-two finish, repeating last year’s result at the 12 Hours of Sebring.* The Stuttgart sports car manufacturer has now secured its 20th outright victory at the endurance classic. No. 6 and 7 Porsche 963 cars combined to lead 273 of 343 laps. However, they were on different strategies.**
“We had the right packages with the Porsche 963 in the top GTP class and the 911 GT3 R in the leading GT category. We were fast, the drivers kept their cool, and the teams worked flawlessly. We couldn’t have asked for more. Congratulations to our customer teams, the works squad, and all our partners. We’re delighted with this successful start to the season and these major achievements as we celebrate 75 years of Porsche Motorsport,” said Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President Porsche Motorsport.
Daytona 24 hour winners Felipe Nasr, Julien Andlauer and Laurin Heinrich dominated in Florida in a riveting battle against fellow Porsche drivers Kévin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor and Matt Campbell. In the GTD Pro class, customer teams Manthey and AO Racing brought home first and second place with the 911 GT3 R. The last time Porsche scored a double triumph across two IMSA classes was in 2008.
‟Winning Sebring on the heels of Daytona is an incredible experience. A one-two finish for Porsche and Penske – unbelievable. Our team has once again showcased just how strong we are. Our race was flawless and we came out on top. For me, it’s a perfect day,” said Laurin Heinrich (Porsche 963 #7).
Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports’ No. 4 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R in GTD PRO driven by stalwarts Tommy Milner, Nicky Catsburg and Nico Varrone placed third in class at the end of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. It was the second podium finish in three races for the No. 4 Corvette trio dating back to last year’s Petit Le Mans to close the 2025 season. They finished just off the podium in this year’s opener at Daytona. With Saturday’s results they are effectively second in the Drivers’ Championship among all full-season teams. The podium finish was the team’s first in the 12 Hours since winning the 2022 race in GTD PRO.

**Differences of Opinions and Accounts as reported by David Phillips of IMSA:
“We were back and forth but at some point, there was a call from the pit stand that was not respected,” said Estre, who still remains in search of his first IMSA victory. “I was driving the car, respecting what we were saying, trying to optimize our strategy, trying to get to the end ‘cause we needed to save some fuel. That’s what I did.
“I think we both had to do the same but somehow Felipe did something else … something happened which was not fair from my side … Felipe can say what he feels. I just know what I felt, what was the rule, what was the communication. I think it was quite clear from both sides from what I understood. But in the end, it didn’t happen that way, so that’s the way it is.”
