LaFerrari, a 900 Horsepower V12 Hybrid Unveiled at Geneva

Ferrari Posts €244 Million Profit for 2012, Best Year in History
Record sales during 2012 in the U.S., China, Germany and Great Britain resulted in Ferrari posting its best financial results in the Fiat-owned brand’s fabled 66-year history. A total of 7,318 road cars were delivered to dealers (+4.5% on 2011) with revenues of €2.433 billion, an increase of 8% from 2011. Continue reading

“Upscale” McLaren P1 Concept to Debut at Paris Motor Show
McLaren Automotive will show a concept of what it is calling the next generation ultimate supercar later this month. The P1 will be at the center of the McLaren stand at its first big league auto show, the Paris Motor Show or Mondial de l’Automobile 2012. The British company says the car is only a design study, next year a production version will be revealed and go on sale. Continue reading
World Record Claimed for Pebble Beach Auto Auction
The official auctioneer of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance sold more than $113.7 million at the Pebble Beach Auctions on August 18 and 19. Twenty-four collector cars sold in excess of $1 million each, led by the von Krieger Special Roadster, a 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540 K, which sold for $11,770,000 on Sunday night, a claimed double world record for a Mercedes-Benz and a pre-war car at auction. Audi Hybrids One-Two at Le Mans. Toyotas Crash, Break
In a 24 race marred by accidents, two Audi diesel hybrid P1 cars took first and second at the 24 hours of Le Mans, with a another Audi in third. A Toyota-powered Lola took fourth, boldly inserting itself ahead of the fifth place car – another Audi diesel, but not good enough to prevent an all Audi podium. All four Audi R18 cars could have won what became the brand’s eleventh Le Mans victory in front of a claimed 240,000 spectators. Continue reading
