BMW Going with the EV Tyde at Cannes
Two 100 kW electric motors convert 240 kWh of energy supplied by six batteries from the BMW into a claimed range of more than 50 nautical miles (~100 km). The craft can deliver an operating speed of 24 knots, with a maximum speed of 30 knots. BMW said THE ICON “makes almost zero noise, without unpleasant vibrations or shocks and minimizing wake.” Continue reading

The design of Ranger is defined by distinctive grilles and front-end appearances for XL, XLT and Lariat models. The Ford C-clamp headlight treatment and strong shoulder lines down the sides incorporate bigger wheel arches The rear end mirrors the front with C-clamp tail-lamps, with “RANGER” stamped across the tailgate. GMC revealed today the 2024 HUMMER EV Omega Edition, a limited-edition vehicle with a so-called Neptune Blue Matte1 exterior color that GMC hopes will attract buyers for a set of wheels that will be priced at levels among the stars. Pricing will be announced closer to production, expected in the first half of 2024. However, this is a UAW contract year, which means anything can happen at GM’s Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center. Continue reading

OTA – More Horsepower for Mercedes EQE, EQS Customers
Mercedes-Benz said in Atlanta today that EQE and EQS customers in North America can now opt for more performance with the new “Acceleration Increase On-Demand upgrade,” available as an Over-the-Air update (OTA) This applies to Sedan and SUV models. Le Mans – Ferrari, Corvette, Victorious in Rain
As always, rain induced carnage worked its way with hapless drivers making the outcome somewhat random with roughly one-third of the race run under yellow flags with its innovative five separate safety cars deployed by class. There was a record 16-car hypercar field with competitors from Cadillac,* Ferrari, Peugeot and Porsche. These race cars are now clearly as complex, exciting and as expensive as Formula One cars.
